A lesson I was reminded of when I realized I missed both Series Premieres I was looking forward to.  Kings and Legend of the Seeker, the former ripped from the pages of the Sword of Truth series.

Luckily before my panic set in, I found them both on Hulu.

Yes Mr. Alec Baldwin, my brain is turning to mush, but as long as I'm entertained, bon apetite.

Writer's Block: Eat, Drink, Be Merry @ 03:08 pm

Thanksgiving is almost here in the U.S., heralding the start of the holiday season and the first of many meals where you might be confronted with a traditional dish that you happen to find disgusting. What holiday food do you hate to see on the table?

More Bailout talk @ 08:56 am

Found this article comparing the bailout to other vast sums of money, like the entire NASA budget for next year is about 2.5% of the bailout and allot more, for those that care.

Got this one boss at work that might just be me in a few years.

He was a former Tier 1 Engineer turned manager wholoves comic books.

Yesterday and today we talked in depth about the 3 wheeled invention of the Can Am Spyder and how we liked it.

Today we discussed Woot.com and through that I have about ahlf a dozen people around me asking me questions about it and a few that have already bought stuff.

What do you expect when you put up a 4 port VPN Firewall for less than 30$ in a call center full of AT&T Network Nerds?

Ah well, good times.

Odd, but good times.

job @ 02:39 pm

So, for all you Server types out there.  I need a bit of help.

I have a job interview tomorrow for a position that is a Network Admin/Systems admin/ Management trainee.

apparently they want a guy to replace their current 'IT GUY' who is moving to Europe at the end of this eyar so he needs to start training his replacement.

I got the Network Admin part down, in true management fashion, I am pretty sure I can BS my way through on that part.

The part I am hazy on is the Windows 2k3 stuff.

Anyhting specific I should dive into tonight/tomorrow?

I am passingly familiar with AD as I've used it to unlock accounts, and grant access in previous jobs, but thats about it, other than that I have basically nothing your slightly above average Helpdesk guy would have.

And before I just dove in, I was wondering if you had any places you would suggest I start, especially for a 'Generalist' type interview.

THANKS!

meme @ 10:01 am

Stolen from various people this morning:

you are in a mall when the zombies attack. You have -

[01] one weapon.
[02] one song blasting on the speakers.
[03] one famous person to fight alongside you.

1. The halo Pistol.  (Scope, unlimited ammo, and an unbreakable hard hitting melee weapon)

2. Something to calm me down and keep me steady, maybe What I Got by Sublime, that song always cheers me up and when Zombies attack, I could probably use some cheer...

3.  Vin Deisel, he's a gamer and in good enough shape that he can probably do some of the thigns I can and imaginative enough to not ask why Im doing things.

Pain update @ 03:19 pm

Stupid rib still hurts, mostly when laying down or getting up, so I usually wake up 4-5 times a night as I toss and turn.

Don't really have money (go-go no insurance contracting!!) to go to the Doc, and even if I did even if its cracked and not bruised all he is going to say it 'take it easy and use Advil if the pain is too much'

I just want it to heal.

I got up early this morning to go jogging got about 20 feet and felt like every step someone was jabbing my ribcage with a knife, so instead I settled for a mildly uncomfortable brisk walk.

Ah well, here's hoping this fixes itself soon.

Glad the Eddie Izzard show rocked, dont nkow why we didnt go I think it was the fact that TicketMaster hung up on me both times I tried to buy tickets.

Hope everyhting is well out there.

Happy Birthday smokedamage.

I am putting in for a possible bid at the 8-5 M_F shift at work, if that fails, there is also a 10-7 shift (not as good since that would mean no school, but better for spending time with the other half)

Anyhow, wish me luck.

Oh, almost forgot had the palm tree installed by the pool and the day after it is being beaten up by savage winds.  I hate this but there is 0 I can do about it.

Oh, and the wind is so bad I dont trust myself on the bike, this is made of suck.
